Charlie A. Mengel

Founder & Principal

Charlie A. Mengel is the Founder of Development Solutions Group. With a track record spanning over 1 million square feet and 5,000 units since 2015, he specializes in value-add adaptive reuse and ground-up development for the multi-family and self-storage sectors.

Charlie oversees the full project lifecycle—from site selection, deal structuring, and VE design to entitlements, construction, and asset management. His expertise includes managing complex entitlements and environmental remediation to unlock value in constrained sites.

He currently manages a portfolio of mixed-use multi-family and self-storage assets in Chicago while expanding the firm's footprint through targeted acquisitions of development sites in growth markets nationwide.
